's TJ Courtney is living proof that taking a risk pays off. The singer-songwriter sent a demo to lauded Foo Fighters
producer Jon Lousteau in blind faith, hoping he'd be willing to mix the track. Instead, he received an invitation to record at Dave Grohl's legendary 606 Studio with Foo's drummer Taylor Hawkins hopping on the kit and other veterans including Rudy Sarzo (Ozzy Osbourne), Chris Chaney (Jane’s Addiction), and Mick Murphy (Chevy Metal) helping out too. Today's free song is the final product of that dream-worthy session, "Run Away." Stream and download the track above.
“'Run Away' is about taking risks in life," Courtney says, "and having the courage to abandon your prejudices, restrictions and anything else holding you back from being who you really are.” A fitting insight given the song's backstory.
"Run Away" will appear on a yet-to-be-announced EP that is slated for a fall release.
