UK Newcomer Birdy Covers Bon Iver's "Skinny Love"

If you haven't yet become familiar with the dynamic vocals of fifteen year old Jasmine van den Bogaerde, aka Birdy, allow her cover of Bon Iver's "Skinny Love" to formally introduce you. As you may know, we're something of Bon Iver obsesses over here. That being said, we're no easy critics when it comes to the slew of attempted covers -- especially, when the song in question is "Skinny Love." This cover, however, is a rare exception from a young girl whose incredible vocal quality, and passionate musicianship stands as a rarity in its own right -- especially considering her age. So far, her cover has hit No. 17 on the UK charts, and has over 18 million hits on YouTube. Our one hope -- that Vernon himself has seen this, and a duet is being quietly plotted. We can dream, right?

For now, give this a listen, and head to iTunes to pre-order her self-titled, debut album, due out March 20 from Warner Bros. You can also check out the album's tracklisting below, comprised primarily of indie-friendly covers.
